Ink and toner

What does OEM mean?

OEM means original equipment manufacturer. A genuine OEM cartridge is produced and branded by the company associated with the printer or copier manufacturer.

Are all products on the site genuine OEM?

No. Toner Connection carries both genuine OEM products and compatible alternatives. A product is genuine OEM only when it is specifically identified that way on its product page.

What is a new compatible cartridge?

A new compatible cartridge is manufactured as an alternative to the OEM cartridge. Toner Connection sources compatible products made under established quality controls to provide reliable print quality and page yield at a lower cost.

What is a remanufactured cartridge?

A remanufactured cartridge uses a previously used cartridge shell that has been cleaned, inspected, rebuilt, and refilled. Quality depends heavily on the remanufacturing process, testing, and components used.

Are all compatible and remanufactured cartridges the same?

No. Manufacturing standards, components, testing, and quality control vary. If you are unsure which option best fits your equipment and print volume, contact our team.

Will using a compatible cartridge automatically void my printer warranty?

A manufacturer generally cannot void an entire warranty solely because a compatible supply was used. However, damage shown to have been caused by a non-OEM product may not be covered by the equipment manufacturer. Review your equipment warranty and contact us with questions.

How should I handle spilled or loose toner?

Avoid inhaling toner dust or allowing it to contact your eyes. Do not blow toner with compressed air. Follow the cartridge manufacturer’s safety guidance and contact a qualified professional for significant spills. Do not attempt to refill cartridges without the proper equipment and training.
